Cultural Events in Munich

Day 1: Arrival
Individual arrival in Munich and check‑in at the Platzl Hotel. From there, you can use your Munich City Pass to get into the mood for your weekend—for example, with a visit to the nearby Kunsthalle, which is within walking distance. Depending on your travel date, the evening is at your leisure, or you may attend the performance of your choice at the Bavarian State Opera, located just 250 meters away. The journey to and from the opera is at your own arrangement.

Day 2: Bavarian State Opera 
After breakfast at the hotel, you can plan your morning entirely according to your preferences. Make use of your Munich City Pass. How about a visit to the Residenz Museum, the largest city palace in Germany? Or a guided tour through Munich’s Old Town, with stops such as Marienplatz, the Frauenkirche, the Hofbräuhaus, and finally the Viktualienmarkt. In the afternoon, your Munich City Pass allows you to explore the neo‑Gothic New Town Hall and join a guided tour that includes the reading room of the Law Library and the historic council chambers. During the tour, you will also learn interesting facts about the numerous façade figures and the building’s architectural history. Please note that tours and guided visits must be booked in advance. Entry to attractions is possible by presenting the pass. Depending on your travel date, the evening is at your leisure, or you may attend the selected performance at the Bavarian State Opera. Travel to and from the venue is at your own arrangement.

Day 3: Departure
After breakfast, check‑out and individual departure.

Platzl Hotel München ****
This family‑run 4‑star hotel is located right next to the famous Hofbräuhaus and only 250 meters from the Bavarian State Opera. It combines traditional design elements with modern comfort and state‑of‑the‑art technology. The 167 rooms are modernly furnished and equipped with air conditioning and soundproof windows. Culinary delights await you at the Pfistermühle restaurant and the Ayinger tavern. On the 5th floor, the hotel offers a fitness and wellness area with a sauna and steam bath.
